We praise the
moon: so serene, so lovely,
while the sun
has given it the beauty and the light.
We praise the
pearl for its exquisite resplendence,
never credit the droplet which lays in shell
day-night.
The rose is
adored as the expression of love,
the import of
thorns are stemmed from the fight.
The mansion
glitters vivid for the stunned elites,
Simplicity
flatters the lesser mortals’ plight.
The sonnet of
success swells his pride,
The woman
behind his HIMness is out of his sight.
Gawking,
blazing, bluffing, imbuing at times,
‘Tis Lord’s
land: so big, so wide!
Live, Grow, Erupt,
Flourish, Fly, Thrive
but Learn to
laud the Black behind the White.
